VIEW: Sample Copy of the Online Coping and Stress Profile VIEW: Coping and Stress E-Brochure It seems everyone’s life is filled with stress these days and we are all looking for ways to cope. The Coping and Stress Profile is based on research conducted by Dr. David Olson while at the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis. In his clinical work, he identified that the usual ‘coping strategies’ of fitness, nutrition, breathing, meditation, and medication, etc., deal with stress after it has occurred. He identified four ‘relationship’ coping strategies that, when implemented, eliminated/minimized negative stress in the first place! Now available through EPIC as an online assessment, the Coping & Stress Profile provides personalized feedback on a person’s levels of stress he/she is feeling in two environments (at home and at work) and also provides feedback on the levels of satisfaction this person is feeling in both environments. It further explores this person’s use of the four Relationship Coping Strategies (Flexibility, Closeness, Communication, and Problem Solving) in both home and work environments and goes on to offer development ideas to strengthen capability in using the four relationship coping strategies to further reduce/eliminate negative stress. The profile helps participants uncover and explore: - Stressors in their personal and professional life
- Coping resources that can be used to decrease stress
- The level of satisfaction in their personal and work life
- The relationship among stress, coping resources, and overall satisfaction
- An action plan to reduce stress and increase satisfaction
